Collins 30L-1 Round Emblem Power Amp new Penta Labs 811A tubes
This is a nice, totally working, Round Emblem Collins 30L-1 Power Amp with new Penta Labs 811A tubes. This is my own unit, that I have used for a number of years.
It produced about 800 watts (on 80 meters - the only band for which I have an antenna at this point) running from 115 VAC. I would expect it to produce a tad less on the higher bands. It can be wire for 230 VAC and that would make the power supply a bit "stiffer" and it would then probably make a bit more power. But this is about what I expect to see from these amps. I've had and used several of these. It is easy to tune, reliable, "instant on", and provides a good power level. The tubes are relatively cheap and readily available and do not go gassy during a prolonged period of little or no use - unlike 3-500Zs which are notorious for that problem. I probably have less than 20 hours of use on these tubes.
This unit has a plastic trim ring, which many people prefer because they don't get scratched. When the unit is removed from the enclosure for maintenance. Some people prefer the aluminum trim ring - mostly because of its color. Since I have both, I will include the aluminum trim ring so can use whichever one you prefer.
The Aluminum trim ring is in very good condition - showing some minor signs of use. If you decide to just use one or the other, I'm sure you could sell the other one.
