This is Yaesu's "Grand Linear" for the HF bands. It has been converted, not by me, to use a pair of Gi7B Russian ceramic triodes to replace the standard set of 5 x 6KD6 valves. It is a really substantial amplifier, normally rated as 1.5KW input power, but this one has an additional torriodal transformer for the triode heaters, so it's even heavier. I have tried it on 40m and despite being rather "home brew" in construction it functioned well, but it was far too powerful for what I want, so it's up for sale here.
I must sell it strictly for parts, spares or repair only as this needs an experienced technician to check it for safety and then make sure it's operating as it should. It's just too big for my requirements so I'm listing here for a bargain price just to cover my costs. The PTT phono input has some odd hard set plastic around it. I'd suggest this is changed ASAP by the new owner - although it is working. There's a close spaced silver coil inside the RF deck, shown and circled in Picture 8, which looks to me as though it may have arced over.
I'd change this for a one, perhaps enamelled, but any mods are down to the new owner. I suspect this amp will perform better on the lower bands than above 21MHz, but that's just a hunch based on Google searches. If you search for "FL-2500 Gi7B" you will find a nicely prepared manual on this conversion, which is not included, but I'd recommend is worth a look.

Collection only, this is seriously heavy, much heavier than a 2100z which aren't light! I cannot accept any responsibility for the safety of the new owner of this amplifier. It generates a substantial HT level that will kill you if you're not careful.
