Collins 204f-1 2.5kw Hf Amplifier Am-2374/urt S# A-25

  

The 204F-1 by Collins has been called, a 30S-1 on steroids, the dream machine etc. It is probably the largest amplifier they made that was suitable for amateur radio service. It is definitely the biggest piece of S-line gear you can find. They are rated at 2500 watts out key-down. It will do that all day long. At 1500 watts PEP out it is just idling, and will run forever. These were designed for 100 to 200mw input. There is some info on the web, especially on the CCA page Besides the door safety switches it also has a circuit that limits plate current to 1.6A without this it could go up to 5KW but this is not recommended. This originally came with a pair of 4CX1000A but it has a pair of 4CX1500B tubes now. Except for the tag it is a 204F-1.

This also has the built in wattmeter which was an option, and it has two Bruen couplers installed on top. Please see pictures for actual cosmetic condition. I will most likely be delivering this myself and I'm basically only charging expenses one way.

Someone will have to be there to help me get it out of the trailer, and I will only be responsible for placing it out of my trailer. Unless otherwise prearranged you will have to move it form there. I do my best to check them out and list all defects I find, but some of these units are 20 to 40 years old or more. Since old capacitors, resistors, and the other parts can change or fail at anytime we cannot fully guarantee them. Unless stated otherwise this is used equipment. Honesty is the best policy.
