Palomar 300A Vintage 6KD6 Ham Radio Amplifier with PS (looks great, may need work)

  

This amplifier is in very good cosmetic condition. The only drawback is that the cabinet has a somewhat sticky feeling to it, but this seems to be coming off OK with some Simple Green cleaner.

It'll take some time, but I think it can be removed. Other than that, the faceplate and cabinet look good. Inside, the amp looks complete and free of modification. The amp had mix-matched tubes installed when we received it. The amplifier powers up and we're hearing AC hum and the fan spins (albeit slowly), however the tube filaments did not illuminate.

The tubes have been removed from the amp and are not included in the sale. This will be a solid base for a restoration! This equipment is part of a very large silent-ley estate we recently acquired, all of which has been in a storage unit for approximately 15 years. We have not done any testing beyond what is specifically mentioned above.

There are a few reasons for this, but it essentially comes down to the fact that they almost always need some level of service and it's simply not cost effective to pay our technician to spend time going through them. It may or may not need components replaced (caps, resistors, tubes, etc), controls cleaned/lubricated, alignment, and so on. Unless you are qualified and capable of working on this unit yourself, or are willing to pay a qualified individual to do the work for you, we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you.
