Digital RF Power, REF & SWR Display Controller - LCD 2x16, EEPROM Menu, FM/PEP Mode and Alarm Output. This unit is a complete electronic display and control module designed for RF power, reflected power and SWR indication. It is suitable for RF transmitters, power amplifiers, antenna tuners, dummy loads, RF test equipment, custom radio projects and amateur radio applications.
The module is based on a PIC16F1847 microcontroller and uses a clear 2x16 character LCD display to provide direct and easy-to-read information during operation. It reads analog DC voltages from an external RF sampling circuit, such as a directional coupler or RF bridge, and converts them into useful display values for forward power, reflected power and SWR. This product is designed for easy integration into new or existing RF projects where an external RF sensing circuit is already available.

The module displays PWR, REF and SWR values on the LCD. PWR shows the forward RF power. REF shows the reflected power. SWR shows the standing wave ratio calculated from the forward and reflected signal levels.

The display is designed to be simple, clean and easy to read during normal operation. The unit supports two operating response modes. FM Mode Fast response mode, suitable for FM carrier, or any stable continuous RF signal. Voice or signals where the power level changes quickly. The FM/PEP mode is selected using a dedicated front-panel push button. Each time the button is pressed, the selected mode is briefly shown on the LCD so the operator can immediately see whether the unit is working in FM or PEP mode. The selected mode is automatically saved to EEPROM memory and remains stored even after the power is removed. The unit includes a built-in setup menu.
The menu is entered by holding the MENU button for a few seconds. This prevents accidental menu entry during normal operation. Through the menu, the user can adjust important operating parameters, including. Display rounding step for the power reading.
Saving settings to EEPROM memory. All settings are stored permanently in EEPROM memory and are automatically loaded every time the unit is powered on.
When the unit is powered on, the LCD first shows an information message indicating that the saved/default values will follow. After that, the display shows the stored operating settings for a short time before entering the normal measurement screen.
This allows the user to immediately see the current configuration of the instrument at startup, including power scale, REF alarm level, SWR alarm level, power display step and FM/PEP mode. This feature makes the product easier to understand and more user-friendly, especially when the unit is installed in a finished RF amplifier, power meter or test setup. The module includes an alarm indication system for important RF conditions. It can display warning messages for. Alarm messages are displayed on the second line of the LCD without permanently hiding the main power reading. If more than one alarm condition is active at the same time, the messages alternate automatically so the operator can see all active warnings. The unit also provides a status/alarm LED output, which can be used for an external visual indicator or for additional protection/control circuitry depending on the final installation. The unit uses four control buttons. MENU Used to enter the setup menu with a long press. Inside the menu, it moves to the next setting and confirms/saves the configuration. UP Increases the selected value inside the menu. DOWN Decreases the selected value inside the menu. FM/PEP Instantly toggles between FM and PEP operating mode. The selected mode is shown briefly on the LCD and automatically saved to EEPROM. The first line of the LCD is used mainly for forward power and reflected power information. The second line is used for SWR indication and temporary messages such as FM/PEP mode display or alarm warnings.

The layout is designed to remain clean and practical, allowing the user to quickly read the most important RF values during operation. This module is suitable for. Upgrading older analog RF bridges. The unit can be used with a suitable external directional coupler or RF sampling bridge that provides the required DC voltages to the ADC inputs.

This product is the electronic display/control module only. It includes the LCD display, microcontroller board and firmware functionality. The RF sensing section is not included. This means that the directional coupler, RF bridge, ferrites, RF connectors, dummy load, detector circuit and other RF sampling components are not part of the supplied unit. The user must provide a suitable external RF sampling circuit that generates the correct DC voltages for the measurement inputs. For proper operation and full-scale indication, the measurement inputs should be driven with suitable DC voltages up to approximately minimum 5V for maximum scale.
