RM KL805 Very Powerful! 10 & 11 meter HF Linear amplifier UK

  

This amplifier has come to me as part of a shack clearance it is an RM KL805, a truly monstrous 10 & 11 meter mobile amplifier, it is liable to melt antennas and fry nearby Tv's with impunity, according to my dummy load watt meter the amplifier is producing 700watts on 30w drive SSB and around 500w on FM with 15w drive , im not certain how accurate my meter is at this level i believe the tolerance for most power meters is around 10% , overall condition looks nice i don't think its had much use looking at the condition, its pretty clean. I have got several reports with the amp and it is in good working order, nice clean audio pre amp works well and the variable power too,, this amplifier also features a built in low pass filter! Please note it is a 24Volt unit requiring 30+ amps at full chat. This amplifier is in working order. If you use it with a BAD antenna match (high SWR) you will blow it up, If you OVER DRIVE it (more than 15w in FM or 30w in SSB) you will blow it up! If you ignore the duty cycle and overheat the unit it you will blow it up! That said when looked after properly a linear like this can provide you with years of reliable service- The class A/B bias of these amplifiers gives them good clean SSB audio unlike many other cheaper units.
