Swan Mark II Linear Amplifier & Power Supply Tested and Serviced 10-80M

  

I was so impressed with the reviews on this amp that I decided to keep it for myself and put it to the side thinking oneday I would put together a Swan Station. I'm downsizing and my Alpha 87 serves all of my needs. I decided to go through this amp and sell it. The amp is set up for 117V. I replaced the power cord plug with a nos General Electric grounded AC plug. I re-soldered and cleaned up the high voltage lead and plug. I went through the Jones plug and checked all of the connections and pins. I went through the power supply and tested all of the capacitors for ESR, Leakage... All tested well and are original. All of the rectifier diodes were tested and are good and original. All of the fuses are good, clean and the holders are tight. New Parasitic suppressors and caps were made and installed. The relay was cleaned and the amp was tested to make sure rf passes through.. The fan was inspected and lubricated. 13 New tubes were installed to test the Amp. YOU WILL NEED NEW TUBES. All light bulbs as well as the meter work.

The meter reflects similar reading to my test gear. The amp was tested with various drive and modes on 10, 11,15, 20 , 40 and 80 Meters. In my tests, the installed original tubes were flat.

They are included just to keep the Parasitic suppressors from flopping around DO NOT USE THESE TUBES, THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED. This amp is all original except the Parasitic suppressors and the power cord plug. There is some wear to the case. It would look great with a new coat of flat black paint or maybe just some spray wax.

I will leave the cosmetics to you. You can't compare this to modern amps. Included is the original Swam Operation and Maintenance manual.
