Tokyo Hy-Power HL-1.5KFX Solid State Ham Radio Amplifier (needs repair)

  

This amp came from a silent-key estate, and right off the bat we had a feeling there was something wrong with it. The previous owner had it removed from his station with the cover taken off (all original screws are missing, we've replaced with non-original screws). It was obvious that he was trying to trouble-shoot a problem. When we got the amp back to the shop, we tested in manual mode and the keying relay activated. However, as soon as RF drive is applied, something trips inside the amp and we get no output. You can let the amp reset and the problem will reappear over and over. We've done no trouble-shooting (other than checking fuses), so we have no idea what's going on with the amp. Someone with the expertise, equipment, and time can probably find and repair the problem and have themselves a fantastic amplifier at a discount!
